vStream has always been a passionate advocate of the arts and with such an emphasis on innovation in the company it was a particular pleasure to be involved in marrying new technology with more traditional skills. vStream were proud to be asked to create an interactive installation to display and compliment the beautifully crafted art work displayed at an exhibition honouring the late great Irish artist Owen Walsh.
A bespoke Kinect installation platform was developed by vStream allowing viewers to use a simple hand gesture to explore the art through notebooks, press cuttings and photographs, displayed on a large screen. This removed the risk of damage to the original article.
The launch of the Owen Walsh exhibition in NCAD was a huge success with Irish dignitaries, luminaries and celebrities, rubbing shoulders at the opening, many of whom were seen swiping their hands through the air to turn the pages of vStream’s Kinect installation featuring the life’s work of the legendary artist.
